In an abundance of caution due to the COVID-19 public health crisis, STARRY is implementing a social distancing protocol and remote work posture.
Consequently, STARRY Counseling offices are suspending in-office counseling sessions and implementing remote phone/video counseling. In office sessions will resume after the public health crisis is over. Counselors will be in contact with existing clients on moving appointments to this option as soon as possible. New clients are still being accepted and all sessions will be remote until further notice. STARRY Foster Care in Central Texas will continue to serve its foster families and DFPS per new protocols and guidelines around social distancing.

Comfort Food Care Packages
Our State partners have created a program to help our families who might be in need of food assistance during this time. They, in conjunction with the Governor’s office, have created a “Comfort Food Care Packages” (CFCPs) program with the Texas Restaurant Association as the state responds to COVID-19. As part of the program, participating restaurants across the state will offer these CFCPs for patrons to purchase on behalf of families and youth in need. Each care package contains enough food to feed a family of 5 to 6 and will be delivered to recipients’ homes. The program is a partnership between the Governor’s Public Safety office, the Texas Network of Family and Youth Success Programs, Favor Delivery and the Texas Restaurant Association (TRA). Restaurants across the state are currently signing up on the TRA website.

Families must be a client of STARRY or be referred by a participating PEI provider to apply. If you are not a current STARRY client, but would like more information on STARRY free counseling services for youth and their families, please call your local STARRY office to get set up for telehealth sessions during this COVID-19 crisis and to be eligible for the Comfort Food Care Packages program.
