Principle Job Function: The Administrative Assistant will do all of the following for their assigned region: answer all incoming phone lines, transfer calls; take accurate messages and notify staff when emergencies arise; assist STARRY staff in the overall coordination and communication of FAYS services, and support in program activities. They will also provide warm welcome and exemplary customer service through inperson interactions in their assigned offices and all phone interactions with clients. This role is essential in evaluating client eligibility through initial phone calls and gathering pertinent information required for services provided by STARRY, within contract(s) expectations. This role also ensures adherence to ethical codes and best practice in the field.

This role is essential in meeting FAYS contract expectations for on-call and emergency shelter services. This role will be essential in evaluating client eligibility through initial phone calls and gathering pertinent information required for services provided by STARRY, within contract(s) expectations. This role also ensures adherence to ethical codes and best practice in the field. This role reports to and interacts with STARRY staff, Team Supervisors and Directors. Additionally, this position must understand and support the greater mission of STARRY and Children at Heart Ministries.

Duties include: Crisis hotline coverage Monday 9am-Friday 5pm weekly (24 hours/day); Answer incoming calls for STARRY services daily; Complete intake calls for assigned Call Team region; Accurately record all incoming calls in the STARRY internal database (EHR); Provide de-escalation, support, and referral resources as needed; Provide in-person crisis services and placements as needed; Greet and clearly communicate STARRY services to clients in person or on the phone; Use excellent customer service skills to represent STARRY and meet the needs of clients.

Principle Job Function: The Operations Support Specialist (Back Office) supports the STARRY Operations Team in ensuring organizational effectiveness for STARRY staff throughout the service area (currently includes 39 counties in Texas). Based in Round Rock, this position is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in the evolution of a fast-growing, highly-respected organization by providing a variety of back office functions with human resources, finances, data collection, and administrative duties in collaboration with STARRY staff and vendors.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree preferred, with a minimum of 2+ years’ experience applicable to the position responsibilities.
