STARRY Staff Trainings

Help fund specialized trainings for STARRY’s Counselors and Family Support Specialists! These trainings help STARRY’s professional staff gain credentials for EMDR, TBRI Practitioner, or Play Therapy Training.

EMDR is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy. The goal of EMDR is to help an individual heal from traumatic experiences or other distressing events.

Having staff with this specialized training will provide clients with access to this type of therapeutic intervention which is highly effective for healing from trauma.

Trust Based Relational Intervention® is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention that is designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children.

Having more staff with this specialized training will increase STARRY’s capacity to meet the needs of the children we serve through individual sessions, family sessions, parental support, and providing psychoeducational presentations in the community.

Play Therapy is a therapeutic modality that uses a child’s primary language (play) to help them express their feelings and process through difficult experiences or circumstances.

Providing funds for STARRY staff to attend additional Play Therapy training will help equip them with additional knowledge and therapeutic interventions to help children and families facing difficult challenges.

We also have opportunities for donations to the STARRY Staff General Training Fund!

STARRY’s general training fund will provide staff with access to trainings as needed to meet children, family, and community needs. These trainings could include topic areas like processing grief, parenting curriculums, parent cafes, secondary traumatic stress, managing anxiety, just to name a few.

For more information about staff training donations, please call our Mission Advancement Office for more details (512) 886-4621.
