Amber Chesser, MS, LPC, NCC, is a counselor and parent coach with STARRY Family Preservation in Georgetown, Texas. She graduated from the University of Dallas with a BA in Psychology and Education and then completed her MS in Counseling at the University of North Texas. She has supported children and families for over 15 years beginning with her work at a Children’s Emergency Shelter and then with Early Childhood Intervention providing in home support. In 2015, Amber began working at STARRY providing individual and family counseling services and then moved into her work with the STARRY Foster Care Program providing in home support and training for Foster Parents, Biological Parents as well as schools and daycares as they learned to incorporate trauma informed care into their homes and communities. Amber provides individual counseling to participants of the Williamson County Family Recovery Court utilizing EMDR and Seeking Safety along with other modalities such as Trust Based Relational Intervention. Within STARRY Counseling, Amber supports children and families though individual and family counseling building up their protective factors to help build resilience and stronger families. Amber is also a NEAR Science Trainer and Parent Café Facilitator.
